::ABOUT THE ARTISTS::
Joshua Guy plays acoustic Blues, Ragtime, Jazz and Fiddle tunes as well as traditional music of West Africa and the diaspora. He has recently been featured at the Texas Democratic Convention, Jack Daniels 150th Anniversary, Chicago Summerdance, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Dallas’s Green Elephant, the Old Town School of Folk Music, and the world renowned Abene Festival Des Arts in Casamance, Senegal.
His performances are ‘dynamic and multi faceted’ and he was hailed as a “professor of percussion” by Gambian Ambassador Dawda Fadera.
Group Subakan – ‘the Sound of Tomorrow’- features songs and dance music of Mandeng West Africa and the Caribbean Diaspora. Positive vibes, heavy grooves , drums, percussion, guitars, song and dance will move your body and uplift your expression.
