THE LINEUP PRESENTS AMERICAN VOICES
September 9, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
The final installment of The Lineup features the infectious rhythms and beautiful melodies from the Great American Songbook, with a special emphasis on music by and about American women. Vocalist Andrea Bunch and guitarist Chris Walz, from Old Town School of Folk Music, explore the voices of women in American folk music; jazz pianist Alyssa Allgood and her trio explore some of America’s greatest jazz composers, who happen to be women; and actor and singer Sharon Rietkerk closes the concert with some of the most famous American melodies from theatre and film. Come and enjoy the beautiful music of Billie Holiday, Betty Carter, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Harold Arlen and many more on the lawn at beautiful Gallagher Way.
We encourage neighbors and guests to bring a blanket and enjoy the show with food from the restaurants surrounding Gallagher Way. Please note, no outside alcohol is permitted, but beverages are available for purchase at Gallagher Way. For more information and frequently asked questions, click here.
The Lineup is co-curated by Edwin Outwater, Musical Director Laureate of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony in Ontario, Canada and Tim Higgins, principal trombone of the San Francisco Symphony.
