Weekend Happenings April 15 – 17

This week we got a sneak peek of some warm weather and even begun to see some patios open up! Wrigleyville welcomed back The Cubbies and we are more than ready for a full season of baseball. Easter Sunday is this week and we have found some great ways to celebrate, here is a compiled list of Easter and Passover specials in the area. And finally, we present to you, some of the best events going on in Lakeview East and Wrigleyville this weekend!

This tropical late-night getaway has plenty of drinks to warm up your vocal cords, like The Scorpion which is a mix of Don Q Crystal, B&B brandy, orgeat syrup, lemon juice, and orange juice. Berlin Presents an All Trans Showcase

Berlin Nightclub

Between the lively hours of 10 pm – 4 am this Friday, Berlin Nightclub invites you for a night of entertainment presented by all trans performers. The show Moans will be hosted by Irregular Girl and Tiki Vonte, with performances by five different entertainers. When the show is over, MissTwink USA will be playing music into the late night!

This showcase is sure to be nothing short of jaw dropping, and wig snatching. Vaccine cards will be checked, and masks are required.

Learn to Cook a Three Course Chinese Meal

On Friday night, learn something new. Get In The Kitchen invites you to learn how to make three amazing Chinese inspired dishes. The menu for the evening begins with veggie egg rolls, followed by sweet and spicy shrimp, and ends with chicken and Chinese vegetables in a delicious Classic Sesame Cantonese sauce.

Every attendee will be gifted a free cocktail! Wine by the glass is also available for purchase during the course. This event is as fun as it is educational! Join in on a night of food, socializing, and enjoyment.

Every Saturday morning, relax your mind and deepen your stretch at Third Space for a complimentary yoga class starting at 9 am. “Margie Newman leads a free hatha yoga practice adaptable and adjustable to your abilities. A 75-minute Kripalu hatha yoga practice. Slow and strengthening flow, adaptable to your pace and choices.” No matter your skill level, this class is open to all yogis. Catch him at his Chicago stop for his world tour I’m Coming Everywhere. “He is best known for his Netflix specials, Ball Hog (2020), Disgraceful (2018), Mostly Stories (2016), and Completely Normal (2014). Paste Magazine described him as, “…having a natural and capable storytelling ability, one that lifts his narratives out of average anecdote fare and plants them firmly in hilarious ground.” Take advantage of this opportunity to see a comedic legend perform live!

Sing Around the Rosie at Gman

This Saturday night, New Belgium Brewing invites you to the third Sing Around the Rosie: Karaoke Jam at Gman Tavern. Attendees will rock the stage, and sip some brews with hard to beat deals!

Specials for the night include $5 Fruit Smash Cans, $5 Citrus Rescue Drafts, $5 Fat Tire Tall Boys, and $12 Trasatlantique Kriek. The event will be hosted by singer and songwriter Mike Rose. Signups start when doors open at 8 pm, and performances begin at 9 pm.
